Trojans travel to Haywood this upcoming Friday night

The upward trend of ‘The Scott Blair Era’ was one play from being rewarded with a game-winning touchdown.Then Kirby Cougar athlete Cordaro Lackland stepped in front of a pass from Millington Trojan quarterback Cole Hawkins late in the fourth quarter. When Lackland crossed the opposite goal line 92-yards later, the Cougars earned a hard-fought 22-10 win while the Trojans were left with the dreadful moral victory.“The moral victory is not what they’re here for,” Trojan Head Coach Blair said. “They came in here to play well and win. It’s hard to tell those kids about a moral victory.“They’ve got to know that they played better, prepared better and moving forward we’ve got Haywood next week, then Craigmont, Fayette-Ware, Ridgeway and Brighton are on the schedule. We’ve just got to keep moving forward,” he added.Although Millington came up on the wrong end of the outcome, the Trojans displayed progress and growth.The Trojans (0-5, 0-2 in Region 8-4A) took the lead early behind the defensive efforts of players like Ayden Folson, Kolyn Clark, Najee Bolton and Kaleb “Batman” Clark.
